I don't know if he is going to be a buyer, or a sneaky seller, but he sure has been uncharacteristically quiet.

Tallon loves trades, so I expect him to be involved somehow before it's all said and done.

I hope the Avs can pull of a trade with Florida. Stastny and Jones plus an asset for Campbell and Versteeg. Panthers get a number 1 centre to take Weiss spot & Huberdeau matures, they save 2m on cap hit, change of scenery for both Jones and Versteeg, and dont have the financial commitment of Campbell any longer.

Any takers?

I think he will make a big move at the draft. I really dont see him doing much at the TDL. Besides moving someone like Smithson or Kuba if we retain almost half his cap hit.

I like jones but no way we ever do that deal. We are extremely deep at center even without weiss and i don't really consider Stastny to be a true number 1 center anymore. And i dont think versteeg needs a change of scenery he has moved around a lot and wants to stay in one spot.

Plus Stastny isn't much cheaper then Campbell.

What realistically would be the cost of Brian Campbell?

With the cap going down I really don't see how he is movable. But J-BO got moved so I guess it could happen! Could be something close to him but with a roster player coming back.

intriguing. Campbell's a guy that regardless of cap hit would look great on the Oilers. Tough to see us fitting him in if we're also trying to add a top 6 winger. I'd prefer him though, frankly.

I hope we don't move him. He runs our powerplay and he is one of the best puck moving D-men in the league. He carries this team more then people realize. And I can't see us getting fair value for him.

Cheaper with the one season reamining on his contact, chance to resign him for even cheaper to fill the number 2 centre spot. Just dont knwo what your financial commitments are going to be like next season, whats the ownership sitation like for you guys?

me neither frankly. He was a good trade prospect for the oil because we could probably get him for cheaper than he's worth.

I'd hope Tallon keeps him, he's a great guy to have.

Like I said, depending on your teams financial commitment going forward with a lesser cap, and I dont know what the ownership situation is like but letting Campbell go for cheaper assets might be an option.

I like our owner and I think he is going to give Tallon the green light to bring in some talent when teams will need to shed cap. If the cats are going to do anything this would be the year to make a big push during the draft.

But we will see what happens.

And even with Campbell huge cap hit I still wouldn't move him. And moving him for a center only hurts our team we have to many centers. Now I could see us moving Kulikov for a solid top 6 winger.

Just look at what Tallon traded for him!

But I can't see us moving our #1 D-man we aren't in cap trouble so he will stay a cat unless Tallon gets blown away with a big offer. IMO

Ah makes more sense now, I think a few months ago there was some reports floating around abotu Florida being in financial trouble. Chances are it was from some Quebec newspaper stirring the pot.

I like Kulikov, I would part with McGinn/Jones as the starting point to get a deal like that done

Cats won't move, yes the team is losing money but the owners is making lots of money without the cats he would lose a ton of cash. over the last 10 years it has been reported the ownership has made over 100 mill. It pissed off the city because they are suppose to pay the city money when they make so much but they weren't because I think the Cats were in the red but the arena was racking in the dough!

And I think Kulikov would be a good fit in COL. Hard to say what would get it down thou.

Also hearing reports that Tallon is close to signing Weiss to a two year deal. Take it for what it's worth.

And also sounds like he wants to bring back Theo as backup for markstrom. If we don't pick up Lu.

Also I saw we have 19 mill in cap space next year even with the cap going down! With 17 players on the roster next year.

Is it possible Florida moves to Quebec City next year? Or will it have to wait for the year after?
